L&R is the largest distributor and the 6th largest purchaser of cosmetics in the United States. We now distribute over 40,000 items (cosmetics, toys, school supplies, hosiery, hair accessories, OTC, HBA, and more) through 3 regional warehouse locations in Arkansas, New Jersey, and Nevada.
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager who will be responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day Accounting, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable operations for L&R. Core responsibilities include managing the month-end closing process, including reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, review of journal entries to ensure complete and accurate financial statements in compliance with US GAAP, and performing variance analyses for internal reporting purposes. This role will work cross-functionally with various groups, including the Financial Planning & Analysis team on financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting, as well as with external stakeholders, such as for annual audits and exams.

Salary: 120,000 to 130,000 (Dependent on Qualifications and Experience)
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including staff accountants, accounts receivable and accounts payable teams
Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including continuously developing and improving ways to stream-line activities and tasks
Ensure completion and detail review of account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analytics during month-end close and year-end closing processes
Assist with treasury functions, including managing and budgeting cash flow and meeting external reporting requirement deadlines
Assist with Accounting and Finance team initiatives and ad-hoc projects
Partner with cross functional teams, including but not limited to, Operations, FP&A, Category Development, and Sales Execution on business objectives while ensuring accounting records are complete, accurate, and in accordance with US GAAP
Review existing processes to assist with the identification of opportunities and implementation of actions to improve existing processes
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
Coordinate and complete annual audits and exams with external stakeholders
Develop/train staff on projects and tasks
Qualifications:
BS degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 6 years progressive financial and accounting experience
Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, Audit Manager, and/or Finance Manager
Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and databases (e.g. Epicor ERP systems, ADP, PowerBI, etc.)
Previous experience in the wholesale distribution and/or manufacturing industry is a huge plus
Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and GAAP, accounting practices, standards, laws, and regulations
Highly organized individual with the ability to lead, develop/train team members, foster strong working relationships, and work collaboratively
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to mine and analyze large amounts of data
