Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled General Labor/Welder to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to guide welding and assembly tasks. Also must be able to follow verbal directions
- Perform various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes & standards
- Use measuring instruments such as measuring tape, calipers, micrometers, power tools, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication of metal materials and sheet metal components
- Operate fabrication equipment including press brake machines, plasma cutters, rigging gear, pipe threading tools, and the press brake machine for shaping and assembling metal parts
- Conduct metal fabrication tasks involving repair work, pipe systems, sheet metal fabrication, and mechanical assembly while adhering to safety protocols
- Utilize tele-handlers and other material handling equipment to move raw materials or finished products safely around the shop or construction site
- Maintain a clean work environment by following safety procedures, inspecting tools and equipment regularly, and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards
- Must be a team player. Must work well with others
Experience
- Previous construction site experience or background in metal fabrication is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience with welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), plasma cutting, soldering, and gas welding processes
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints for fabrication projects
- Knowledge of using measuring instruments like measuring tape, calipers, micrometers, shop math skills for precise measurements
- Experience working with all types of metal materials and performing fabrication tasks in a shop or construction environment
- Ability to operate power tools safely including grinders, drills, saws, press brakes, rigging gear, and machining equipment
- Understanding of safety protocols related to welding operations and construction activities;
