L&M Equipment, Inc. (LMI) is looking for an experienced Fuel manager..
LMI is an Alaskan owned and operated, multifaceted company in Alaska’s Bristol Bay Borough. Our fuel operation includes retail fuel sales from three dispensing stations on the Alaska Peninsula Highway as well ascommercial bulk fuel sales (diesel, jet, heating, propane) to area businesses. We are in search of a safety minded individual who possesses hands on experience in a similar operation.
Responsibilities include:
- Receiving fuel deliveries from supplier tank barges
- Monitoring inventory levels at multiple tanks / sites
- Making fuel transfers from storage tanks to dispensing stations
- Making fuel deliveries to customer locations
- Maintaining and repairing all liquid fuels dispensing systems equipment; assisting and interfacing with 3rd party repair technicians as needed
- Using heavy equipment (i.e. – loaders) for the transportation of ISO tanks to various locations as needed
- Connecting / disconnecting lines and hoses
- Operating fuel vehicles
- Trains for and performs Emergency Response Team member duties as required
- Maintaining safety and spill cleanup supply levels
- Disassembles, adjusts, aligns, and calibrates meters and gauges
- Fueling company and / or customer equipment
- Completing transfer logs, sales logs and all other applicable paperwork in a timely manner
- Maintaining SPCC and mobile facility plans anddocumentation
- Understanding and following all regulations and compliance requirements
- Assist in other areas of the company as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three years related experience
- Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (CDL preferred)
- Ability to use hand and power tools commonly used in the construction trade
- Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Computer literacy with MS Office experience (including basic-to-intermediate Excel skills)
- Detail-oriented, customer-focused, exceptionally organized
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and delegate
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively, professionally, and diplomatically interface at all levels
- Self-motivated, hard-working, performance-driven, and reliable
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude when working through challenging situations
- Must be able to meet physical requirements of the position
Work is primarily performed outdoors and, at times, in extreme temperatures and inclement weather conditions. Work conditions require the employee to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; taste or smell; and work on scaffolding and ladders. The employee may frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance and lift and/or move heavier objects with assistance.
LMI is in remote Naknek, Alaska off the road system. This is a permanent, seasonal position during our busy season from April through November, with two weeks off twice during season and Winters off. Winter work is also possible depending on availability. Housing and per-diem are provided while in Naknek for non-local employees. Airfare is provided from Anchorage to King Salmon, Alaska. Company provides all needed tools. Wages DOE.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
