About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician/Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of electrical tasks for commercial, industrial, and construction projects. The position requires technical expertise, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety. You will work both independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality, code-compliant electrical installations and repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Installation: Install electrical panels, transformers, disconnects, switchboards, and other electrical equipment. Conduct wire pulling, terminating, and proper sizing based on specifications. Perform conduit bending, cutting, threading, and installation.
- System Maintenance and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems efficiently, diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions. Maintain electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with leads and foremen to assist in planning and layout of electrical systems. Read and interpret construction documents, including electrical, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and structural plans.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure all installations comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and company standards. Follow safety protocols and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Project Execution: Accurately size conduits, boxes, and wires as required for field installations. Install lighting fixtures and electrical devices per project specifications.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction plans. Thorough understanding of NEC regulations and common trade procedures. Ability to identify wire colors and sizes accurately.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working on elevated surfaces. Comfort working in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
- Personal Attributes: Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to teamwork. Willingness to learn and adapt to project-specific requirements.
- Additional Requirements:
- Must possess the minimum required tools for the role.
- Reliable transportation to commute to job sites.
