The Asphalt Sales Representative plays a key role in driving revenue and developing and maintaining relationships with existing and new customers for the sale of aggregate and asphalt materials for Greenway Industries of NJ LLC ("Greenway").
Responsibilities
- Understand and explain the asphalt products available to existing and potential customers.
- Understand and explain the environmental features of Greenway's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
- Present, promote and sell asphalt and company services to existing and potential customers.
- Effectively respond to customer complaints and questions and expedite resolution to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule.
- Generate leads, conduct outreach and engage with potential customers through calls, emails and in-person meetings.
- Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities and potential for new products and services.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, etc.
- Answer phones for sales.
- Available 24/7.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a sales representative is required.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect with clients and understand their needs.
- Travel is required.
- Ability to effectively work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong customer service skills are required.
- High motivation and ability to take initiative is essential for this position
- Proficient knowledge of working with Microsoft word and excel is required..
Work Environment
- Work is performed in the office and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Outdoor work environment periodically exposes employee to high levels of noise, oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel and dust.
