Flooring Technician

L&L Flooring and Design is a Nashville-based flooring company serving both retail homeowners and builder/new-construction clients. We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Flooring Technician to join our in-house team. This is a key role: you’ll be the person we send when a job needs to be finished right, a problem needs to be figured out, or a customer needs confidence that it’s handled.

What You’ll Do

• Complete punch work on retail and new-construction jobs, closing out punch lists quickly and to a high standard so projects can be finalized and turned over.
• Diagnose installation problems across all flooring types, identify the root cause (subfloor, moisture, adhesive, layout, workmanship, or product), and recommend and carry out the right fix.
• Perform repairs and corrections on tile, tile showers, carpet, hardwood, and LVP/LVT.
• Handle warranty and service calls, working directly with homeowners and builder superintendents in a professional, solutions-focused way.
• Support our project managers and installers by providing technical guidance and documenting issues with clear notes and photos.
• Complete smaller installations as needed.

What We’re Looking For

• Extensive installation experience (5 years preferred) across tile, tile showers (including waterproofing systems), carpet, hardwood, and LVP.
• Strong troubleshooting skills: you can walk into a failed or problem install, figure out why it happened, and explain the fix clearly.
• Quality-first mindset with attention to detail and pride in finished work.
• Professional communication with customers, builders, and team members.
• Reliable and self-directed: comfortable working independently and managing your day across multiple job sites.
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, kneel, and work on your feet for extended periods.

Nice to have: familiarity with subfloor prep and moisture testing, experience with Schluter or similar shower systems, manufacturer certifications (CTEF, NWFA, CFI, etc.), and experience with new-construction punch processes.

What We Offer

• Pay: $55,000 plus based on experience.
• Employer paid health insurance.
• 401k with Match
• Steady, year-round work with a growing local company
• A role where your expertise is valued and you’re the go-to problem solver
• PTO

Schedule: [Monday–Friday, 8:00–5:00]
Location: Based out of 468 Craighead St, Nashville, TN 37204, with travel to job sites across the Nashville area.
