Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate execution of concrete and carpentry work.
- Construct formwork and scaffolding for concrete pouring, ensuring stability and adherence to safety standards.
- Install rebar reinforcement according to specifications, ensuring proper placement for structural integrity.
- Perform concrete mixing, pouring, finishing, cutting, and sealing using manual hand tools and power equipment.
- Operate heavy machinery such as concrete pumps and mixers safely and efficiently on various construction sites.
- Execute heavy lifting tasks, including handling rebar, formwork components, and other materials with proper techniques.
- Maintain strict adherence to construction workplace safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocols during all activities.
- Collaborate with team members to complete renovation projects, stucco applications, metal stud framing, flooring installation, plastering, caulking, and other related tasks.
- Ensure all work aligns with construction plans and specifications while maintaining high standards of quality and safety throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of concrete forming, finishing techniques, and concrete cutting methods.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation of technical drawings related to construction projects.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for operating power tools, heavy equipment, and concrete pumping systems effectively.
- Experience with rebar installation, metal stud framing, flooring installation, stucco application, and general carpentry skills.
- Ability to estimate construction needs accurately through construction estimating practices.
- Familiarity with construction workplace safety regulations and the ability to enforce safety protocols consistently.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as hammers, saws, trowels; as well as power tools necessary for concrete work and carpentry tasks.
- Capable of heavy lifting and operating heavy machinery safely on active construction sites.
- Knowledge of working on diverse construction projects including renovations and commercial builds; experience interpreting complex construction plans is highly valued.
