Plant Operator
Job Description
Reports to: Plant Manager
Location: Firestone Plant, 12248 Co Rd 15, Longmont, CO 80504
Job Summary:
Work as part of a team to maintain and operate rock crushing equipment. The Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of an aggregate crushing plant, as well as its maintenance and repair, some welding and torch cutting, doing manual labor in keeping the plant clean, and must understand how a rock crusher operates. Safety is a top priority. Opportunities to advance based on attendance and performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform the physical duties of the work in all types of weather conditions.
• Display good communication skills including the ability to understand and follow verbal and written direction and instructions.
• Safely and efficiently use a variety of hand and power tools.
• Read, understand, and follow safety rules and regulations and procedures.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Education and Experience:
• High School diploma or GED.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, squat, bend, walk for long durations.
• Able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
