Position: Estimator
Location: Kansas City

Job Responsibilities
●    Perform quantity takeoffs and project estimates
●    Call vendors and subcontractors for quotes
●    Work with 3rd party engineers for final design once project has been awarded
●    Understand and follow company policies and procedures
●    Prepare proposals and quotations to present to clients.
●    Knowledgeable on plans and specifications for relevant builds and bids
●    Identify opportunities and jobs to bid, bid jobs and manage those jobs

Requirements
●    Minimum of 5 years experience in heavy highway, bridge construction and railroads
●    Experience reading engineer approved plans and specifications
●    Basic computer/electronics knowledge to support daily use of smartphone, laptop, etc. for completing reports and communicating
●    Experience with estimating software, HCSS Heavy Bid is optimal
●    Experience with accounting software and ability to track job costs.
●    Proven experience with and willingness to focus on safety policies, procedures, and regulations
●    Effective communication skills and the ability to work as a team to jointly carry out assigned tasks
●    Current Driver’s License with a favorable driving record
●    Ability to gain E-railsafe clearance
●    Understanding of heavy equipment, including cranes, excavators and pile drivers and other equipment commonly used for shoring installation
