Job Description:
A Respiratory Assistant completes duties as assigned under the collaborative supervision of Respiratory Care leadership, as well as the department staff they are shadowing. The Respiratory Assistant communicates effectively with members of the care delivery team. Shifts will be assigned that offer hands-on experience within the assigned area, to assist in exploration of job opportunities available within the Respiratory Care department. Education • Required: High School Diploma • Preferred: Enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Care Program or taking health science pre requisites. Experience • Preferred: Employment as a CoxHealth Unit Assistant II. • Required: Must be 18 years of age or older. Skills • Able to communicate and work with a wide variety of staff, patients, and families. • Ability to problem solve. • Flexibility and ability to accept direction from members of the care team. Licensure/Certification/Registration • Required: Must obtain BLS within 90 days of hire. • Required: Must be enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Care Program or working on pre requisites for an accredited Respiratory Care Program within 24 months of hire.
