Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs in their home and community settings. Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Provide support in home community care settings, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote socialization and community involvement.
- Help with heavy lifting and mobility assistance as needed, ensuring the safety of both the client and yourself.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in behavior or health to the appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to coordinate care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Perform basic cooking tasks to prepare nutritious meals for clients.
- Ensure compliance with CPR and first aid protocols during emergencies.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home health, assisted living, or direct support roles is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift clients safely and assist with mobility as necessary.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to assisting individuals with disabilities.
- Certification in CPR is highly desirable; training may be provided for qualified candidates.
- Must be able to perform heavy lifting when required and assist clients in various physical activities.
- A valid driver’s license may be necessary for transportation purposes depending on client needs.
