Darling will be conducting onsite interviews for our open manufacturing positions. We are seeking assembly operators, machine operators, set-up techs and welders. Positions available on both first and second shift. We look forward to meeting you and having you join our team! Responsible for the entire sequence of cutting and welding operations for a wide variety of repair and fabrication work. Aligns and welds components of metal tools, wires, fixtures and other metal products. May utilize different types of welding systems for different tasks. Maintains a safe work area and may train apprentices in the trade. Must be able to work in a team environment. Must be capable of getting a set production rate while running machine. Must be able to lift (10 -50 lbs.), bend, stoop, climb and reach. Must be capable of verifying parts to sample. Must be capable of operating machine safely. Must not have any written disciplines on file EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE (helpful in performance of the job) Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Ability to add, subtract, and multiply decimals and fractions. Ability to MIG weld efficiently. TIG welding experience helpful Ability to follow directions communicated verbally and in writing. Ability to read and understand measuring devices (tape measure, scale, caliper) Ability to set weld temperature and wire speed to fabricate a quality weldment. Ability to work in uncomfortable temperatures and less than ideal conditions while working ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (requirements in performance of the job) Starts power supply to produce electric current. Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color, sound, and size. Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions. Examines weld for bead size and other specifications. Applies filler rod manually to supply weld metal. Cleans or degreases weld joint or workpiece. Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes. Prepares broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces. Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter. Positions and clamps workpieces together or assembles them in jig or fixture. Welds assemblies together. Must be able to maintain an 85% or higher daily effiency Must maintain a safe and clean work area. Will gather materials needed for job assignment and stage work area so that weldments can be completed in a timely and efficiently manner. Must accurately maintain counts of material fabricated and turn those numbers in at the end of the shift worked. Must ensure that part is welded to print within given tolerances. All other duties assigned by management.
