Qualifications:Job Description
We are seeking a Process Engineer to join the KSLD Epitaxy operations team. Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of MOCVD principles, equipment and processes as well as related material characterization data and methods. This role is responsible for the operation of multiple MOCVD tools daily, including developing and optimizing MOCVD recipes and processes to meet development and/or production needs, as well as driving process sustaining and SPC best practice. This role is responsible for understanding and analyzing in-situ and in-line metrology associated with MOCVD process and the resulting epi wafers. This role is critical to ensure quality, consistency and performance of KSLD epitaxy.
Specific Responsibilities
- Hands-on development and optimization of MOCVD recipes and processes for epitaxial growth of (Al,In)GaN devices in support of both development and volume manufacturing goals
- Design and implement systems and methodologies to ensure process stability and control, focusing on improving yield and overall process capabilities
- Drive daily data analysis, reporting and general best practice for use of both in-situ and in-line metrology tools and measurements for process monitoring and improvement
- Work with operations, engineering and software teams to improve Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Collaborate with equipment team to ensure consumables, hardware and equipment maintenance procedures are optimized for target process(es)
- Support KSLD quality programs and requirements, both sustaining as well as in preparation for major audits or certifications
- Support and directly contribute to areas including, but not limited to: SOP editing or generation, training technicians or engineers, equipment calibration, MSA, FMEA, 5S, Production Change Control, and the like.
- Own and/or contribute to resolution of corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) in epi process engineering area
Experience and Skills
- BS or MS is Materials Science, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering or other relevant Physical Science
- 3 years industry experience in semiconductor manufacturing cleanroom environment
- Significant hands-on experience in operation, maintenance and troubleshooting MOCVD reactors including recipe development
- Strong understanding of MOCVD principles, equipment and processes as well as related material characterization data and methods
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods; JMP software experience
- Ability to work with minimal guidance; self-motivated and resourceful
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willing to work flexibly and outside the scope of standard job duties and past experience according to company needs
- Team player mentality
The full-time base salary range for the Process Engineer position is $110,500 to $130,000 per annum. The range reflects the minimum and maximum possible base salary for new hires for the role, based on the advertised location. Individual pay is determined by several factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.
