KYOCERA SGS Precision Tools (KSPT-G) is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to grow sales throughout Eastern Michigan, with a primary focus on Metro Detroit. This remote, territory-based role combines technical expertise, customer relationships, and business development to deliver indexable cutting tool solutions. Candidates must reside in Michigan and be able to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.

Help manufacturers, distributors, OEMs, and end users select the right indexable cutting tools, improve machining performance, and solve application challenges. Through technical support and strong customer partnerships, you'll identify new business opportunities and contribute to territory growth.
What You'll Do
- Sales Growth & Business Development: Grow territory revenue by developing new customer opportunities and strengthening relationships with industrial distributors, OEMs, manufacturers' representatives, and end users.
- Customer & Technical Solutions: Evaluate customer applications and manufacturing processes, recommend indexable cutting tool solutions, and provide technical support to resolve machining challenges.
- Product Training & Industry Knowledge: Provide technical training to distributors and customers while staying current on machining technologies, manufacturing practices, and industry trends.
- Business Collaboration & Sales Planning: Support territory planning and sales forecasting, communicate customer feedback and market opportunities to Sales and Marketing, maintain required sales and expense documentation, and represent KSPT-G at trade shows and industry events.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet KSPT-G’s insurance eligibility requirements.
- 2 years of experience in technical tooling or machining and technical sales or support, with knowledge of indexable cutting tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
- Knowledge of indexable cutting tools, machining processes, and tooling applications.
- Strong customer service, communication, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft applications.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Work in office, customer, distributor, and manufacturing environments.
- Visit manufacturing facilities where exposure to machinery, noise, dust, oils, and moving equipment may occur.
- Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Visually inspect tooling samples and finished products.
- Traveling up to 50% throughout the assigned territory
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
