The Quality and Safety Manager (Multi-Site) is responsible for leading, standardizing, and continuously improving the corporate Quality Management System (QMS) and safety programs across multiple operational locations, including shipboard and machine shop environments. This role ensures consistent implementation of quality systems and safety standards across all sites, both local and remote.
The position oversees audits, non-conformance management, and corrective actions across geographically dispersed operations, while partnering with site leadership to drive compliance, performance, and continuous improvement. The role requires domestic and international travel, a valid driver’s license, U.S. citizenship or residency (ITAR compliance), and the physical ability to access Navy ship work environments.

Key Responsibilities
Multi-Site Quality Management System Leadership
- Lead, standardize, and maintain corporate Quality Management Systems aligned with ISO 9001, AS9100, QP1, and QP6 requirements across all locations.
- Ensure consistent implementation, compliance, and continuous improvement of all applicable quality standards across domestic and international sites.
- Develop, maintain, and control quality documentation, ensuring alignment and accessibility across all locations.
- Establish standardized processes for managing product quality records, customer complaints, audits, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
- Coordinate and oversee internal audit programs across all sites, ensuring timely resolution of findings and non-conformances.
- Lead preparation and execution of third-party and customer audits, including those related to ISO, aerospace, and SSPC/AMPP (QP1/QP6) certifications.
- Oversee company-wide corrective and preventive action systems, ensuring effectiveness and consistency.
- Manage and standardize calibration programs across all locations.
- Analyze quality trends across sites, identify systemic issues, and implement enterprise-level improvements.
- Monitor, report, and communicate quality performance metrics across all operational locations.
- Oversee and standardize safety programs across all locations, ensuring compliance with local, state, federal, and international regulations.
- Ensure consistent implementation of safety policies, procedures, and reporting systems across multiple job sites.
- Manage customer-required safety and environmental reporting across all applicable locations.
- Partner with site leadership to develop and maintain environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs.
- Support and coordinate HSE initiatives across geographically dispersed teams.
- Oversee third-party safety training programs and ensure consistent recordkeeping across all sites.
- Prepare and consolidate monthly HSE reports reflecting multi-site performance.
- Lead and develop a team of 8 direct reports, ensuring alignment across multiple locations and functions.
- Serve as a central resource and subject matter expert for ISO 9001, AS9100, QP1, and QP6 standards across the organization.
- Influence and mentor employees at all levels, promoting a unified culture of quality, safety, and accountability across locations.
- Drive cross-site collaboration, knowledge sharing, and best practice standardization.
- Lead root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and follow-up across multiple operations.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives and support lean methodologies across all sites.
- Partner with operations and leadership teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and quality/safety goals.

Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, QP1, and/or QP6 standards, including implementation, maintenance, and auditing in a multi-site environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of quality management experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or shipyard environment.
- Demonstrated success leading multi-site quality systems and safety programs, including audits, system implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience with SSPC/AMPP coating and inspection standards (QP1/QP6) strongly preferred.
- Proven experience managing and influencing cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and change management capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with statistical analysis tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and systems-thinking skills.
- Ability to access government and military facilities, including obtaining DBIDS credentials and necessary clearances.
- Must meet ITAR requirements as a “U.S. Person” (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual).
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and passport required.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screenings, including background check.
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Safety Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Prior experience managing or maintaining multiple concurrent certifications (ISO, aerospace, and coating/industrial standards).
- Ability to Travel (25%): Frequent travel is required, including international travel, to visit and oversee operations at various remote work sites.
- Physical Capabilities: The role demands the ability to navigate diverse and challenging environments on naval vessels during the various project phases. This includes climbing ladders and navigating stairs, reaching overhead, kneeling, crouching, and walking on uneven or slippery surfaces. Exposure to noise, vibration, and variable weather environments. It may also sometimes require accessing work areas at heights, in confined spaces and maneuvering through tight, restricted areas to assess progress and ensure safety standards.
