Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Control
- Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records across multiple sites, including warehouses, shops, and waterfront/dry dock locations.
- Coordinate and track inter-site material transfers, ensuring proper documentation, traceability, and system accuracy.
- Perform and reconcile cycle counts, physical inventories, and location audits across all assigned locations, addressing discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
- Manage material issue, return, and transfer processes while ensuring proper documentation and traceability.
- Establish and maintain organized storage systems to support efficient material retrieval and staging at each site.
- Ensure compliance with controlled material handling, tagging, and traceability requirements in accordance with NAVSEA and customer standards.
- Coordinate end-to-end logistics for inbound/outbound shipments across multiple facilities, including carrier selection, scheduling, tracking, and receipt validation.
- Plan and execute material staging, kitting, and delivery to shops, dry docks, and onboard vessels aligned with production schedules.
- Manage personnel logistics, including coordination of access, movement, and scheduling between shipyard, warehouse, and base locations.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and personnel to support critical path work and minimize downtime across all sites.
- Identify and resolve logistical bottlenecks, improving workflow efficiency across multi-site operations.
- Coordinate and manage shipyard and military base access requirements for personnel, vendors, and subcontractors across multiple locations.
- Ensure compliance with all security protocols, badging requirements, and access authorization processes.
- Schedule and track access requests to align with project timelines and operational needs.
- Act as liaison between project teams and access control offices to resolve entry or clearance issues quickly.
- Create and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders supporting multiple projects and locations in alignment with company procedures.
- Source materials and services, obtain quotes, evaluate pricing and lead times, and identify alternate solutions when needed.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to support cost control objectives and budget adherence.
- Coordinate with vendors on order status, expediting, shipping updates, and discrepancy resolution, ensuring proper delivery to the correct site.
- Manage subcontractor procurement and service scheduling to meet project milestones across multiple job sites.
- Proactively mitigate supply chain risks by tracking long-lead items and expediting critical materials.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of project budgets related to materials, logistics, and subcontracted services across multiple sites.
- Track and monitor expenditures against budget allocations, ensuring alignment with project cost targets.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, including vendor negotiations, bulk purchasing, and alternative sourcing strategies.
- Analyze purchasing and logistics data across locations to highlight cost trends, variances, and opportunities for improved efficiency.
- Collaborate with Project Management and Accounting to forecast material costs and support financial planning.
- Ensure adherence to budget constraints while maintaining schedule and quality requirements.
- Accurately process and maintain SAP transactions, including purchase orders, goods receipts/issues, reservations, and material transfers across multiple locations.
- Ensure data integrity for part numbers, quantities, locations, cost codes, and job references.
- Support cost tracking and reporting by ensuring accurate cost coding and alignment of procurement transactions with project budgets.
- Maintain organized documentation including packing slips, receiving reports, certifications, invoices, and shipping records.
- Partner with Shop Supervisors, Foremen, Engineering, QA, and Project Management across multiple sites to prioritize material and logistics needs.
- Provide status updates on inventory levels, material availability, and procurement progress.
- Provide input to Project Managers on cost impacts of material delays, substitutions, and logistics decisions.
- Support production teams by resolving shortages and ensuring materials and personnel are where they are needed.
- Drive continuous improvement in inventory and logistics processes to enhance operational efficiency across all locations.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in inventory management, logistics, purchasing, or project coordination in an industrial, maritime, defense, or ship repair environment.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred) for inventory and procurement transactions across multiple locations.
- Working knowledge of inventory control practices, material staging, and logistics coordination in production environments.
- Familiarity with shipyard or base access procedures and controlled environments.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across multi-site operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Ability to work in industrial/shop environments and handle physical material movement as needed.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% in support of project sites, vendor coordination, and operational requirements.
- Experience supporting NAVSEA, DoD, or government ship repair contracts.
- Knowledge of material traceability, quality documentation (CofC), and controlled inventory practices.
- Experience coordinating logistics to waterfront, dry dock, or onboard vessel operations.
