The Opportunity
As the Senior Manager, Revenue Recovery & Claims Operations, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all aspects of deductions, claims, and recovery management.
Your focus will be on improving financial performance through effective claims resolution, reducing revenue leakage, identifying root causes, and implementing sustainable solutions that improve efficiency and customer experience.
You will lead managers and teams responsible for deductions, freight claims, and OS&D activities while serving as a trusted business partner to leaders across the organization.
What You'll Do
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop managers responsible for claims, deductions, and recovery operations
- Establish performance expectations, accountability measures, and operational goals
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer-focused problem solving
- Build organizational capabilities through coaching, talent development, and succession planning
- Partner with executive leadership to align departmental priorities with broader business objectives
Revenue Recovery & Claims Management
- Oversee the full lifecycle of deductions and claims, from identification and validation through resolution and recovery
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of freight claims, OS&D claims, and customer deductions
- Drive improvements in recovery rates while reducing unresolved balances and write-offs
- Standardize processes and workflows to improve consistency and efficiency
- Serve as the escalation point for complex, high-value, or sensitive claims matters
Financial Performance & Risk Mitigation
- Identify opportunities to reduce financial exposure and improve revenue recovery
- Analyze trends, root causes, and recurring issues impacting claims and deductions
- Partner with Finance and Accounting teams to support accurate reporting, reserves, and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with contractual agreements, transportation regulations, and audit requirements
- Develop strategies to prevent recurring deductions and claims issues
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Utilize analytics and performance metrics to drive decision-making
- Lead automation, workflow enhancement, and system improvement initiatives
- Implement best practices that improve operational performance and customer outcomes
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators across all functional areas
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner closely with Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, and Finance teams
- Drive resolution of systemic issues contributing to deductions and claims activity
- Support customer and carrier negotiations involving claims and recovery matters
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate successful outcomes
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field
- 8-12 years of progressive experience in deductions management, claims operations, accounts receivable, revenue recovery, or related functions
- 3-5 years of leadership experience managing managers and/or large operational teams
- Strong understanding of freight claims, OS&D claims, deductions management, and recovery processes
- Proven experience driving operational improvements and organizational change
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related discipline
- Six Sigma or Lean certification
- Experience leading process automation initiatives
- Background working in large-scale distribution, manufacturing, consumer products, transportation, or supply chain environments
