Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Medical Biller to join our team. This hybrid role will start with in-person training and work to ensure accuracy and accountability, with the potential to transition to remote work once consistency and reliability are demonstrated.
No coding is required. Claims are automatically generated by the provider; your primary role will be insurance follow-up and claims management.
Responsibilities:
- Review billing records to ensure all claims are accurate and complete before submission.
- Monitor claim status and follow up with insurance companies on unpaid or denied claims.
- Communicate with payers to resolve claim discrepancies, rejections, and appeals as needed.
- Maintain accurate and organized billing records and documentation.
- Identify and report recurring billing issues or payer trends.
- Collaborate with the provider and administrative staff to ensure billing data integrity.
- Prepare regular updates or summaries on claim status and outstanding balances.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in medical billing and insurance follow-up (1–2 years preferred).
- Familiarity with EHR billing platforms and payer portals.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Reliable and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Must complete an in-person training and probationary period before hybrid work begins.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of insurance verification and claim appeals.
- Experience with private insurance and Medicaid billing processes.
- Strong problem-solving and follow-up abilities.
- Basic understanding of functional or integrative medicine (helpful but not required).
Work Schedule:
- Flexible part-time hours (5–15 hours per week initially).
- In-person training and work required at the Mt.Sterling KY office before hybrid/remote work is permitted.
