Pay Range: $22.51 to $33.77
Actual pay will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, proficiency for the role, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, Kwik Trip gives 40% of pre-tax profits back to our coworkers with bonuses ranging from 8-12% of each coworker’s gross annual wage depending on company profitability and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, and more.
About the Role:
Kwik Trip is seeking an IT Technical Writer to join our IT Department. In this role, you will create, maintain, and improve technical documentation for our IT systems, processes, and tools. You’ll work closely with subject matter experts, project managers, and IT professionals to ensure documentation is accurate, clear, and accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences. You’ll also help draft and deliver timely IT announcements to improve user understanding and organizational efficiency.
What You’ll Do:
Develop and Maintain IT Documentation
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to create, update, and manage technical documentation for IT systems, processes, troubleshooting, and tools
- Translate technical content into clear, actionable information for a variety of audiences
- Proofread, edit, and refine technical documents for clarity, grammar, and adherence to style guides
- Coordinate feedback from internal teams and end users for continuous improvement
- Update and maintain articles, correcting outdated content and improving readability
- Follow established processes for content lifecycle management (submission, review, publishing, archiving)
Manage internal IT Communications
- Draft internal IT communications for system updates, maintenance schedules, service disruptions, and other IT events
- Tailor communications to appropriate audiences, providing necessary context and actionable information
- Work with senior technical writers to ensure messaging is clear, timely, and aligned with organizational tone
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, technical writing, training, English, or equivalent experience
- 0 to 2 years of experience in technical writing, curriculum development, documentation management, or adult education
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts simply
- Proficiency in creating diagrams, flowcharts, and visual aids
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and facilitate meetings for information gathering and review
- Understanding of technical writing best practices and industry-standard style guides is a plus
- Ability to work onsite at our La Crosse Support Center
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, daytime hours. Full-time onsite position.
