Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Stocker / Cashier to join our retail team. Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems efficiently for checkout transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure attractive displays and easy customer access
- Assist customers with product questions, product demos, and upselling opportunities to increase sales
- Maintain proper merchandising standards to promote products effectively
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, answering inquiries, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Manage inventory levels by monitoring stock levels and coordinating with supervisors for restocking needs
- Perform cashier duties accurately while adhering to cash handling procedures
- Support in supervising team members during shifts when applicable
- Uphold store cleanliness and safety standards throughout the work area
- Communicate clearly with team members and customers using phone etiquette and professional language
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales, grocery store, or similar environment preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide excellent customer service
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Ability to perform stocking duties efficiently and accurately
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to assist a diverse customer base
- Supervising experience is advantageous but not required
- Professional phone etiquette when interacting with customers or vendors
- Ability to upsell products effectively to enhance sales performance
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including weekends if needed
