Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, clean, and prepare rental equipment for customer use, ensuring it meets safety and operational standards
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and minor repairs
- Diagnose basic mechanical issues and report more complex repairs to senior technicians or service managers
- Load and unload equipment for customers, ensuring safe handling and secure transport
- Organize and maintain yard layout to ensure efficiency, accessibility, and safety
- Check in returned equipment, inspect for damage, and document condition accurately
- Assist customers with equipment operation instructions and basic safety guidance
- Maintain accurate service records and inspection logs in accordance with company and ARA standards
- Support inventory control by tracking equipment availability and status
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA/ARA compliance guidelines
Preferred Skills
- Experience with construction equipment such as skid steers, excavators, aerial lifts, and generators
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and equipment inspection procedures
- Familiarity with rental industry software or service tracking systems
- CDL or experience with towing equipment (a plus, if applicable)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly
- Frequent bending, stooping, standing, and walking
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Comfortable working around loud equipment and machinery
Work Environment
This position operates primarily outdoors in a rental yard environment with exposure to construction equipment, noise, dust, and changing weather conditions. The role requires close coordination with counter staff, drivers, and service teams to ensure efficient operations.
