Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse by managing inventory, handling materials, and supporting shipping and receiving activities. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and adherence to operational protocols.
Responsibilities
- Manage inventory levels and ensure accurate stock counts through effective inventory control practices.
- Operate various warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and reach trucks, to facilitate the movement of goods.
- Perform heavy lifting and materials handling tasks as needed to load and unload shipments.
- Assist with order fulfillment by picking and packing items accurately for shipping.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for tracking inventory movements.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Participate in regular training sessions to enhance skills in warehouse management and safety protocols.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution and management, including familiarity with heavy equipment operation.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment maintenance.
- Proficiency in using inventory management systems such as AS400.
- Experience with order picking, packing, shipping & receiving processes.
- Ability to operate an order picker efficiently while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Knowledge of packaging standards and techniques for various products.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for stocking and inventory control tasks.
