But the work's gotta be done, and if you don't do it, sure, some sucker probably will, but are you gonna sit behind a desk all day as your soul and vitality slowly seep out of your once-virile body and into your seat cushion? Building rad energy systems is daily exercise for both your body and your brain–especially if your company's objective is something more than screwing as many panels into seventeen-year-old shingles as fast as you humanly can, while some ignorant AF overseer is telling you it's your fault we're out of RT Mini's and just cut the ones you have in half so they'll go further.

We're offering a better vision. Brutal work, yes. But the relentless, purposeless hammering of your impact driver on some rotted-out deck in Alief, knowing full well that you and all your closest friends will never be able to make good on the false promises your resident solar bro made some little old lady? Most certainly not.

Meet our company
KW Solar has been a mainstay in the solar market since 2015, which, as you know, is downright ancient in solar years. We were installing triumphant PV systems long before grid parity, before the solar gold rush, before the swarm of d-bags on hoverboards descended upon our city and knocked every door until "solar" became a dirty word. And we'll be here long after high interest rates and the sunset of the ITC freeze them out like the parasites they are. We don't knock doors, we don't have a call center, we don't even use the word "redline" unless we're joking around. We do well-designed, well-built, high-powered energy systems for homes and business–typically the big, bad systems other folks can't figure out how to do.

What is the key? It ain't brain surgery. It ain't a magic monkey foot. We just show up and do what we say we'll do. We regularly study our craft. We fine-tune our internal operations. Your role at KW Solar
If you like doing the same thing every day, there's a place for you, but it's probably not with our field operations team. As an electrician at KW Solar, your assignments will vary substantially from week to week. We maintain a small, closely knit field team that's trained in all the disciplines; technicians perform as many different duties as they're capable of. If you have a wide range of skills, you should come where they'll be appreciated and put to use! If all you have is basic knowledge but a strong pair of hands and a can-do attitude, this is a great place to do develop those skills.

Your capabilities
By showing up to work every day with a work ethic and good head on your shoulders and the right attitude (things we can't teach) you'll have ample opportunity–and incentive–to grow your capabilities. One way we keep our technicians from burning out on rooftops is by not sending them up there all day, every day! We have a robust service business, which means we spend almost as much time zipping around town to fix other solar installers' bad work as we do installing new projects. Team members with a breadth of skills see ample variety in location and working conditions from day to day. The following are things you'll be expected to either know or to quickly learn, because everyone does everything here:

• Structural assembly of rooftop, ground mount, and carport racking systems.
• PV module layout, attachment, stringing, wiring, and bonding
• DC and AC electrical work including pipe runs, wiring, device installation, and grid interconnection
• System commissioning and configuration
• Battery retrofits and new installs
• Inverter troubleshooting and replacement
• Damage repair
