Therapist -School Based/Community/Hybrid

KVC West Virginia is looking for a passionate, driven Master’s-level Therapist ready to make a real impact in the lives of children and teens in foster care and adoptive placements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and family therapy to children and teens in foster care and adoptive placements under Medically and Socially Necessary services and WV Medicaid guidelines  
• Deliver services in school settings, homes and community locations  
• Develop, implement and adjust treatment plans using evidence-based practices  
• Collaborate with families, schools, DoHS and community partners 
• Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team and provide input on client progress 
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in compliance with Medicaid, state and contract requirements  
• Participate in a shared 24-hour on-call rotation  
• Maintain expected productivity of 18–20 billable hours per week

• Comfortable working in school and community-based settings 
• Collaborative with families, educators and community partners 
• Grounded in trauma-informed, evidence-based care 
• Knowledgeable in child development, trauma and de-escalation techniques

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling or a related human services field  
• Ability to obtain the highest level of licensure within two years, if applicable  
• Minimum two years of experience in children and family services preferred  
• Knowledge of the WV Medicaid program preferred  
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance (travel within assigned counties required) 

Work Location & Environment

• Home office based in Martinsburg  
• Services provided across assigned counties 
• Work occurs in schools, homes and community settings 
• Moderate physical activity required; reasonable accommodations available
