Pay & Differentials
$26–$28 per hour
Additional $3 per hour for night shifts
Additional $2 per hour for weekend shifts
Position Summary
The LPN recognizes and responds to out-of-the-ordinary medical circumstances such as illness or injury and follows appropriate clinical protocols. This role supports the overall health and safety of clients through medication administration, health assessments, infection control, documentation, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and consultation with direct care staff.
Key Responsibilities
Complete nursing health assessments within 72 hours of admission
Perform daily assessments and vital signs per policy
Administer medications, including narcotics and PRN psychotropic medications per physician order
Review, transcribe, and implement physician orders accurately and timely
Maintain and document MARs, monitor allergies, and observe for adverse medication reactions
Coordinate with pharmacies to ensure uninterrupted medication availability
Apply first aid to patients and staff as needed
Collect lab specimens and demonstrate competency in waived testing
Monitor and report infectious diseases and complete Infection Control documentation
Assist physicians during clinical hours and communicate medical concerns to the treatment team
Coordinate and communicate dietary needs, allergies, and special orders
Ensure medications are properly prepared for school, passes, and discharges
Support scheduling of outside medical appointments when referred
Conduct hygiene and educational groups as assigned
Participate in staff training and patient/family education
Properly report abuse, neglect, or significant medical events per policy
Maintain accurate, timely documentation using agency systems
Required Qualifications
One-year nursing certificate from an accredited college or technical school
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Kansas
Three to six months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
At least 21 years of age
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
