What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Veterinary Technician / Nurse position at Kutztown Animal Hospital?
We’re a small, close-knit veterinary practice with a big heart – and we’re looking for a compassionate, skilled CVT/LVT/RVT to join our team.
At KAH, you’ll work with cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, and small mammals, support a team that truly cares about each other, and make a real difference for the pets and families who rely on us.
Here’s What Your Day May Include
- Assisting veterinarian during treatments
- Performing venipuncture and running diagnostic tests (blood, urine, fecal)
- Assisting with radiographs
- Monitoring and treating hospitalized patients
- Assisting during surgery
- Managing patient invoicing
- Communicating and educating clients
- Admitting and discharging patients
- Supporting exam room flow which includes collecting patient history from clients and updating medical records
- Maintaining clean, organized treatment and exam areas
- You’ll typically work a four-day work week, with an occasional Friday shift when needed.

- Experience in a veterinary setting
- Certification as a CVT/LVT/RVT (or equivalent)
- A calm, compassionate presence with pets and people
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- A willingness to learn, grow, and support your teammates
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where no two days look the same
- Curiosity and openness to learn about less common species
- Medical record keeping skills
