Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Waiter to join our dynamic hospitality team. Experience with POS systems and a background in fine dining or food industry settings are highly valued. The Waiter will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere, upselling menu items, and fostering guest relations to promote repeat business.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety protocols are followed at all times
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning work areas, and setting up for service
- Handle cash transactions accurately and perform cashiering duties when necessary
- Respond to guest inquiries professionally, providing detailed information about menu items and specials
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, including table setup and sanitation procedures
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred, especially in fine dining or nightclub settings
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests effectively
- Experience in upselling, sales techniques, and guest relations to enhance the dining experience
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to manage time efficiently during busy service hours
- Basic math skills for cash handling and billing processes
- Prior host/hostess or serving experience is beneficial but not required; a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are essential
