Job Description:
Kurtz Bros., Inc. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to the oversee the maintenance of facilities and equipment. Candidate must be reliable, able to work well with others, work with attention to detail and follow industry safety standards. Prior maintenance supervision is preferred, or a combination of maintenance work and supervision.
The Maintenance Supervisor will report directly to the Production Manager. The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of the maintenance department and the efficient and cost-effective completion of all maintenance projects. A key part of the role includes following safety regulations and procedures, short and long term maintenance planning and acting as a liaison with internal departments and external contractors.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement practices. The candidate will have organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Basic computer skills are also required. The candidate must also be able to prioritize tasks based on company needs.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to effectively communicate with management, union, and outside contractors.
- Prior experience in general facility maintenance. This includes projects and general repairs to plumbing, structural, electrical, and HVAC systems. Supervisory experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of general mechanical equipment, electrical systems, and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of repair and maintenance regarding health codes; plumbing codes; electrical codes; architectural codes; structural codes; blueprints and wiring/plumbing schematics; building code improvement; national/local fire codes; proper chemical handling and disposal; power and hand tools, meters, etc. as it relates to the technical trades; OSHA codes and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to interpret manufacturer’s literature for installation, preparation, use and upkeep of various machines, materials and products used throughout the property.
- Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and take ownership of the department’s responsibilities.
· Ensures quick and effective response to breakdowns. Investigates and further develops PM program to prevent future breakdowns.
- Capable of physical movements and positions to carry out job duties. Includes but not limited to bending, crouching, lifting, standing, kneeling, ladders, stairs, etc.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year
