Duties
- Prepare and assemble deli foods such as sandwiches, salads, and hot items following established recipes and safety standards
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with product selections, answering questions, and offering recommendations for upselling products
- Handle cash transactions with precision, including cash handling and basic math calculations for change
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Restock shelves, organize displays, and ensure all food items are properly labeled and rotated for freshness
- Assist with food handling tasks such as slicing meats and cheeses using proper techniques to ensure safety and quality
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation or food service environments such as quick service restaurants, cafés, or grocery stores is preferred
- Knowledge of POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell products confidently
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail transactions
- Familiarity with food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Culinary experience or restaurant background is advantageous but not required; willingness to learn is essential
