We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and promote a strong safety culture across multiple heavy civil construction projects in the Chagrin Falls, OH area. The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in safety management within the construction industry and will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving health and safety programs to ensure the well-being of all employees and compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and oversee safety and health programs including accident prevention, jobsite safety audits, motor vehicle safety, confined space entry, and OSHA compliance.
Foster a proactive culture of safety through policy development, training, risk mitigation strategies, and employee engagement initiatives.
Conduct regular jobsite inspections to identify hazards, ensure compliance, and recommend corrective actions.
Investigate incidents and accidents, prepare detailed reports, and oversee workers' compensation claims in collaboration with HR and insurance partners.
Track, maintain, and report all OSHA and company safety compliance requirements.
Provide ongoing safety education, training sessions, and communication to employees and leadership teams.
Stay up to date on safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices, ensuring the organization remains compliant and proactive.
Prepare and present reports on safety performance, awareness, and key statistics.
Regular travel to job sites as required.
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Safety Manager in the construction industry, preferably in heavy civil or related fields.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management practices.
Completion of OSHA 30 Construction is required (OSHA 510 strongly preferred).
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
