Job Summary
KUR Diagnostics is seeking a skilled and dedicated Cardiovascular Sonographer to join our team. This role involves performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including echocardiograms, carotid and abdominal ultrasounds, EKGs, ABI testing, and spirometry. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, experience with EMR systems such as eClinicalWorks or Aprima, and the ability to provide compassionate patient care in a fast-paced clinic environment. Professional sonography certification is preferred, BLS certification is strongly preferred, and Spanish-speaking ability is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic sonographic examinations using ultrasound equipment.
- Collect and document patient history, including vital signs and relevant medical information.
- Conduct a variety of cardiovascular and diagnostic tests, including:
- Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI)
- Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
- Spirometry
- Carotid Ultrasound
- Abdominal Aortic Ultrasound
- Echocardiograms
- Prepare and position patients for exams, ensuring they understand the process and feel comfortable.
- Adjust patient and equipment positioning to capture optimal images.
- Document measurements and upload images and PDF files to HMS by the end of each day.
- Evaluate the quality and diagnostic value of obtained images.
- Maintain patient records with strict confidentiality and in compliance with HIPAA and privacy regulations.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain aseptic techniques during procedures.
- Demonstrate initiative, self-direction, and effective multitasking abilities.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, providers, and clinic staff.
- Work within a well-established family practice setting with a consistent schedule.
- Complete additional administrative tasks once ultrasound duties are completed.
Requirements
- Experience with echocardiography and vascular imaging is required.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and sonography techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
- Spanish-speaking ability is a plus.
Education and Certifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.
- Preferred Certifications (one or more):
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) – ARDMS
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) – CCI
- Registered Technologist in Sonography (RT(S)) – ARRT
Preferred Skills
- 1–2 years of professional experience as a sonographer is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, specifically eClinicalWorks, Aprima, Athenahealth, or similar platforms.
- Strong computer literacy, with efficiency in laptop/desktop devices.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical stamina and manual dexterity, including assisting patients with positioning and standing for extended periods.
Schedule
- 8-hour shifts
- Day shift, Monday–Friday
- No on-call, weekends, or holiday shifts

- Commensurate with experience
