Position Summary

KUR Diagnostics is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Ultrasound Technician to oversee clinical diagnostic testing across multiple sites and provide leadership to a growing team of sonographers. This role combines hands-on diagnostic testing with supervisory responsibilities, ensuring quality, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Clinical Responsibilities

  • Diagnostic Testing: Perform a range of KUR Diagnostics (KD) tests at multiple clinic locations, including:
    • Carotid & Thyroid Ultrasound
    • Echocardiogram
    • Abdominal Aortic Ultrasound
    • Electrocardiogram (EKG)
    • Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI)
    • Spirometry Testing
    • Vital Signs
  • Data Management: Upload ultrasound images and test reports into the HMS system daily.
  • Supply Oversight: Manage and maintain inventory of medical supplies across all assigned locations.
  • Provider Relations: Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with providers at each clinic.

Supervisory & Leadership Responsibilities

  • Scheduling: Oversee and adjust the ultrasound technician schedule (coverage, PTO, shift adjustments).
  • Team Lead: Serve as the primary point of contact for techs on equipment issues, clinic operations, and workflow questions.
  • Recruitment: Participate in candidate outreach, resume review, and scanning interviews for new hires.
  • Training & Mentorship: Onboard and mentor new ultrasound technicians, ensuring clinical and operational standards are met.
  • Timekeeping: Review, approve, and adjust time sheets for ultrasound techs.
  • Performance Monitoring: Review weekly ultrasound exams and compliance with end-of-day protocols.

Referral & Appointment Management

  • Manage referral alerts for assigned clinics.
  • Confirm patient appointments, including Spanish-speaking patient scheduling.
  • Oversee diabetic patient lists and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Monitor patient charts for selected clinics and escalate alerts when needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5–7 years of experience as an ultrasound/diagnostic technician, with proven ability to perform multiple types of imaging tests.
  • Education:
    • Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Radiologic Technology, or related field.
    • Associate degree preferred.
  • Certifications (preferred):
    • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS – ARDMS), OR
    • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS – CCI), OR
    • Registered Technologist in Sonography (RT(S) – ARRT).
  • Additional: BLS Certification.
  • Language Skills: Spanish-speaking ability is a strong plus.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in operating diagnostic ultrasound equipment and EMR systems.
  • Experience with clinic-based EMR systems such as eClinicalWorks, Aprima, or similar platforms.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple clinical and administrative responsibilities across multiple sites.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform tasks requiring physical stamina, mobility, and manual dexterity.
