What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ag Equipment Operator position at Kuntz Farms?
Operate self-propelled equipment that reaps, harvests, threshes, swathes, or winnows crops; perform manual or mechanical adjustments to equipment; perform safety checks on equipment; maintain and repair equipment and other tools; transport crops to elevators, silos, or other storage areas, and transport equipment and other tools used for harvesting from one field to another. On fields controlled/operated by Kuntz Farms: Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops such as working with bins and augers to load carts and trailers; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) such as planter, sprayer, tillage tool to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, load crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags; workers that drive truck to transport crops from fields to storage may possess a CDL. Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Haul and spread manure, fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools. Must speak and understand English.
