We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
- Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Record vital signs and patient information accurately in the electronic health record system.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and post-treatment care.
- Manage patient scheduling and follow-up appointments using dental clinic management software, such as Orthotrac.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the treatment area and waiting room.
- Support pediatric dentistry practices by providing compassionate care to younger patients.
Experience
- Experienced only
- Knowledge of dental terminology, aseptic techniques, and relevant systems is essential for success in this role.
- Experience with X-ray technology and understanding of vital signs monitoring is highly desirable.
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and team members.
