What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account and Operations Manager position at Kung Pow Marketing?
Company Description
Kung Pow Marketing specializes in driving website visibility and traffic for clients, with a focus on professional services that rely on building trust within local communities for growth. The company offers expertise in Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Content Marketing, and digital advertising across platforms like Facebook, Google, and remarketing channels. By leveraging proven marketing strategies, Kung Pow Marketing helps businesses transform their websites into effective tools for achieving business goals.
The Role:
You'll own client relationships AND build the internal systems that make sure work actually ships. Account manager meets operations manager.
This is not a "coordinate meetings and send status updates" job. You're building the operating system for how we work.
What You'll Actually Do:
- Translate strategy into clear plans with timelines, owners, and checklists
- Build repeatable systems for projects, campaigns, reporting, and onboarding so we stop reinventing the wheel
- Spot blockers before they become fires and solve them quietly
- Maintain dashboards, project boards, SOPs, and documentation that make it easy for anyone to understand what's happening
- Interface with clients, creatives, and contractors. Close loops, clarify expectations, prevent misalignment
- Push back when scope is unrealistic or priorities conflict (with respect, data, and clear reasoning)
- Balance urgency with realism so the team moves fast without burning out
Who You Are:
- Operationally brilliant. You don't just manage tasks, you build systems that scale.
- Detail-obsessed, not bureaucratic. You care about details in service of strategy, not red tape.
- Calm under pressure. You bring stability when things move fast.
- Not a yes-person. You challenge when something doesn't make sense and back it up with reasoning.
- Communication-fluent. You can talk to anyone and make sure everyone's aligned.
Requirements:
- 2-5 years in account management, project management, or agency operations
- Working knowledge of marketing (content, paid ads, SEO, design workflows)
- Comfortable with Notion or similar project management tools
- Based in Michigan (Detroit, Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor, or Lansing areas preferred)
To Apply:
Send your resume and a short video intro. Don't be generic. Tell us:
- Systems you've built from scratch
- How you handle the messy parts of client work
- Why this role is exactly what you've been looking for
Looking forward to meeting you!
