The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of courses that empower students with practical skills in areas such as nutrition, personal finance, child development, and family management. They will foster a hands-on, career-focused learning environment, providing students with both theoretical knowledge and real-world application.
Responsibilities:
- Create a dynamic environment that allows students to explore the areas of positive teen and adult living, parent and child development, and early childhood education.
- Work closely with school staff in the development of a comprehensive Family and Consumer Science program that also involves culinary and hospitality programs.
- Oversee CTE student organization for Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA)
- Develop and nurture partnerships with CWI/BSU/local business and industry to create meaningful instructional experiences and ensure competitive graduate.
Qualifications:
- Must have or be willing to work toward one of the following certifications: Standard Teaching Certification in Family and Consumer Sciences, Occupational Certification in either Early Childhood or Education Assistant.
- Experience in Foods/Nutrition and/or Culinary Arts encouraged. Experience in early childhood professions desired.
Physical Requirements:
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities which permits the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively on the telephone and in person.
- Sufficient vision or other powers of observation which permits the employee to comprehend written work instructions and review and prepare documents and file them in a prescribed order, and organize documents and materials.
- Sufficient manual dexterity which permits the employee to operate a personal computer and other office equipment.
