Duties
- Greet guests warmly, provide menu recommendations, and explain Japanese dishes with enthusiasm to enhance their dining experience
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with the kitchen and bar staff
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining a lively and professional demeanor
- Upsell menu items, including specialty sushi rolls, sake, or other Japanese delicacies to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food handling safety protocols
- Assist with food preparation or plating when needed, supporting kitchen staff during busy periods
- Manage guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, preferably with fine dining or Japanese cuisine familiarity
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable for efficient order processing and cash handling
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude and the ability to upsell effectively
- Ability to manage time efficiently during high-volume shifts while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math skills for cashiering, billing, and inventory management
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices in the food industry
- Previous experience in hospitality roles such as host/hostess or nightclub serving is a plus
- Culinary experience or kitchen background is advantageous for supporting food presentation and preparation tasks
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed in a fast-paced environment
