As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you’ll ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant payment processing that keeps Maverik’s operations running smoothly. You’ll verify vendor information, reconcile invoices and purchase orders, resolve discrepancies, and support 1099 reporting. This is a detail-oriented role that blends precision with collaboration, helping ensure Maverik’s vendors are paid accurately and on time. Why this role matters: This role directly impacts Maverik’s financial integrity and vendor relationships, ensuring timely and accurate payments that maintain trust with our partners and keep operations moving efficiently. Location/Schedule: This role is based at our Salt Lake City Headquarters and requires an on-site presence at least 4 days per week, Monday through Friday. Position Summary & Day-to-Day Responsibilities: This position manages the daily functions of accounts payable with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. • Ensure accurate and compliant payment processing by verifying vendor details and Federal ID numbers.
• Prepare and schedule payments, resolve discrepancies, and process purchase orders, invoices, and credits.
• Maintain complete documentation for all transactions, ensuring proper approvals and reconciliations.
• Audit and verify expense reports to ensure compliance with Maverik’s Travel & Entertainment policy.
• Support 1099 reporting and preparation to meet annual compliance requirements.
• Partner with internal teams to resolve vendor or payment issues promptly and professionally. You’ll be a great fit for this adventure if you have: • Experience in accounts payable with strong knowledge of payment systems, vendor management, and reconciliation practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for financial tracking and data analysis.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, working effectively with both internal and external partners.
