TITLE: Maintenance Technician

STATUS: Exempt/part-time

SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and orderly conditions throughout contracted job sites for the agency’s Group Supported Employment (GSE) program, with a primary focus on floor care (buffing, scrubbing and carpet cleaning). The ideal candidate will have experience operating floor cleaning equipment and performing general maintenance tasks in an office setting.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS: This position requires typical work operations and responsibilities as to but not limited to:
Flexibility with work schedule required to meet maintenance needs of contracted sites
- Operate floor scrubbers, buffers, and other specialized floor-cleaning equipment
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in designated areas
- Strip, wax, and polish floors as assigned
- Ensure proper care, maintenance, and storage of cleaning equipment
- Conduct routine inspections of floors for cleanliness and safety hazards
- Minor repairs (e.g., changing light bulbs, fixing door handles)
- Replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies
- Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies
- Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to supervisors promptly
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and supplies used
- Other duties as assigned
OTHER DUTIES:
Provides backup support for facilities maintenance at agency headquarters.
- Works with and assists others as required. Performs additional duties at the request of the management.
- Responsible for performing work duties in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety procedures and providing input into enhancing overall company safety.
- Attends job relevant seminars/conferences as appropriate; attends all mandatory training sessions and maintains required certifications.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred
2. Proven experience operating floor care equipment (scrubbers, buffers, etc.)
3. Basic knowledge of maintenance and custodial practices
4. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
5. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness
6. Good physical condition and stamina; ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, bend, and walk for extended periods
7. Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
8. Able to obtain/maintain public service license (PSL) endorsement/clean driving record
9. Must have reliable transportation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to perform all physical aspects of essential duties.
2. Lift up to 50 lbs.
3. Ability to operate all floor care equipment
