As Road Logistics Operations Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing daily logistics operations, managing carrier relationships, and leading a team to ensure service excellence and operational efficiency. How you create impact
- Supervise daily inbound and outbound shipment activities to ensure optimal resource utilization and customer satisfaction.
- Manage carrier relationships, monitor performance metrics, and recommend changes in mode or provider as needed.
- Conduct rate and service analyses to align with customer expectations.
- Investigate shipment exceptions, compile claim documentation, and oversee resolution in compliance with industry standards.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Road Logistics Department.
- Identify and implement process improvements, including automation opportunities, to enhance operational performance.
- Support the establishment and communication of customer service standards across all accounts.
- Maintain and publish scheduled reports on productivity, workflow, performance, and financial contribution.
- Lead and support a team to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality operational services.and act as a secondary point of contact for escalations and support inquiries.
- Collaborate on investigations related to service issues, losses, and escalations.
- Monitor team productivity and performance; partner with management to assess employee development and initiate improvement plans.
- Coordinate with operations management to implement approved process changes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team and OCC
- Maintain regular communication with Operations Management regarding KPIs and productivity reporting.
- Ensure adherence to QSHE (Quality, Safety, Health, Environment, Security & Dangerous Goods) standards and company policies
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration is typically preferred.
- 4 years of freight forwarding or logistics experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel for data analysis and reporting)
- Deep understanding of Less-than-Truckload (LTL) and Full Truckload (FTL) operations, international trade regulations, and hazardous materials (hazmat) handling.
