What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator - 1st Shfit position at Kuehne Nagel?
As a Contract Logistics Specialist at Kuehne Nagel, you will manage end-to-end warehousing operations for our customers. By doing so with precision, you not only contribute to the success of your team, but also to the day-to-day operations and success in the warehouse and distribution centres. For example, storing and delivering delicate flowers and fresh ingredients to local stores for everyday lunches and family celebrations. You will report to a Supervisor and move product throughout the site and load or unload materials using a reach truck, sit-down forklift, or other heavy material handling equipment. You will work Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, and will be paid weekly at $18.00 per hour.
- Use MHE (Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to load and unload designated trailers
- Move product manually as required
- Verify and receive materials into inventory
- Duties may also include palletizing and shrink wrap
- Use MHE to move and store materials within the warehouse
- Use MHE to pick, verify and pack orders according to operational standard practice
- Use MHE or other designated equipment to load goods into trailers or other transport vehicles used for distribution
- Conduct Pre and Post audits of MHE
- Ability to lift heavy materials
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended amounts of time
- Adhere to Kuehne Nagel’s Quality, Safety, Health and Environment Program policies and procedures. Perform other job duties as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of recent forklift operating experience
- Forklift certification
- Can lift-up to 50 pounds
- Can work overtime or weekends
- Can walk or stand for extended periods of time
