Job Summary
Manage the department responsible for analyzing and resolving supplier quality problems by conducting audits, analyzing defect trends and working on deviations.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee the parts quality group to ensure the quality and quality improvements of products that are being produced at Kubota
- Work directly with suppliers to dramatically improve overall part quality. Drive improvements to their overall quality systems.
- Travel to supplier facilities to review and enhance their effectiveness and capabilities, performing audits.
- Drive issue resolution with suppliers, engineering and manufacturing
- Project management responsibility for the testing and evaluation of new procured parts for acceptance to mass production at Kubota
- Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Own and maintain supplier quality manual, supplier audit, and supplier scorecard
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations
- Contributes to team effort by supporting other team members as capacity issues arise.
- Special projects as requested and other tasks as needed
- Plan for long-term improvement of the department, including manpower, capabilities, and responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, material science, etc.
- Experience leading and communicating with teams
- Ability to travel
- Must be familiar with reading and understanding mechanical drawings with some understanding of electrical schematics
- Good technical writing skills
- Basic Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint) skills
- Strong communications skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask
- Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work with little to no oversight

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in AutoCAD, MS Access or SQL
- Experience Engineering in manufacturing field
- Master’s degree in manufacturing related Engineering field is an added advantage
- Knowledge of outdoor power equipment is desired
- 2 – 3 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Education Requirements
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or other related fields
Language Requirements
Must be able read, write and communicate in English.
