Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Mid-Level Electrical Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of electrical trade functions, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and machinery. Key Responsibilities:
- Execute a range of electrical tasks, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, such as relays, motors, and switches, ensuring optimal performance.
- Safely work with high voltage (480V) and high amperage (up to 4000A) systems with appropriate support.
- Calculate electrical parameters including Watts, Volts, Amps, OHMS, and electrical loads accurately.
- Monitor and navigate PLCs and automated systems; interpret ladder logic effectively.
- Maintain and support conveyors, paint systems, and chemical processes as needed.
- Troubleshoot mechanical systems to enhance production operations when required.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on lasers and robots, with or without operator assistance.
- Utilize sketches, drawings, schematics, and written instructions to perform tasks.
- Interpret and apply a variety of technical instructions to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Perform and report on preventative maintenance for all plant support equipment.
- Obtain and maintain certifications for powered industrial vehicles and overhead crane operations.
- Understand and adhere to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Participate in special projects and related tasks as assigned.
- Share your knowledge by teaching others how to calculate electrical parameters.
Essential Skills and Experience
- 2-5 years of electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic diagrams.
- Familiarity with NFPA and NEC regulations.
- Must achieve and maintain valid certifications for powered industrial vehicles and overhead crane operations within 30 days of starting.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Associate's Degree or Diploma in Industrial Maintenance or a related field.
- Experience with PLCs.
- General knowledge of NFPA and NEC regulations.
- Experience interpreting ladder logic.
- Proven ability to work independently on new equipment installations.
Working Conditions
This role requires the ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat or cold. The technician must be able to stand for extended periods (up to 12 hours), use hands to handle tools and controls, reach, climb stairs, and maintain balance. The role may involve occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
