Position Summary:
The Movie Tour Driver is responsible for providing engaging and informative guided tours of Kualoa Ranch’s iconic filming locations. This role involves safely operating tour vehicles, delivering historical and cultural narration, and ensuring an enjoyable guest experience. The Movie Tour Driver serves as an ambassador for Kualoa Ranch, representing its values while showcasing its significance in film and television.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate tour vehicles safely while guiding guests through Kualoa Ranch’s movie sites.
- Deliver engaging narrations about the ranch’s filming history, notable productions, and Hawaiian cultural significance.
- Conduct safety briefings and ensure guests follow all safety protocols.
- Assist with guest check-in, boarding, and headcounts before each tour.
- Address and resolve guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism and hospitality.
- Maintain tour timing and adhere to designated routes while ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance or safety issues.
- Keep tour vehicles clean, organized, and properly stocked with necessary supplies.
- Monitor weather and terrain conditions and adjust tour experiences as needed for guest safety.
- React productively to changes and assist with additional tasks in the Tour Operations department as required.
- Ability to drive and operate large tour vehicles, including buses and trams.
- Must be able to lift at minimum 50 lbs. to assist with operational duties.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather conditions (sun, rain, wind, humidity).
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods while performing tours.
- Capable of occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing to inspect vehicles or assist guests.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience in customer service, public speaking, or tour guiding.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and entertain guests.
- Ability to handle guest concerns and resolve issues professionally.
- Dependable, enthusiastic, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience driving large vehicles (buses, trams, or off-road vehicles).
- Background in tourism, hospitality, or storytelling.
- Appreciation for Hawaiian history and culture.
- Ability to speak multiple languages (a plus).
- CPR and First Aid certification.
