Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (Med/Surg) provides high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a medical-surgical unit. The role includes monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, collaborating with the healthcare team, and ensuring safe and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor patient vital signs.
- Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders.
- Develop and evaluate patient care plans based on clinical needs.
- Provide patient and family education regarding conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.
- Document all patient care activities in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Respond effectively to emergencies and changes in patient condition.
- Maintain infection control, safety, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other nursing staff to ensure coordinated care.
- Support patient mobility, hygiene, and post-operative care when needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or acute care experience.
