Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (Med/Surg) provides high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a medical-surgical unit. The role includes monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, collaborating with the healthcare team, and ensuring safe and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor patient vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders.
• Develop and evaluate patient care plans based on clinical needs.
• Provide patient and family education regarding conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Document all patient care activities in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Respond effectively to emergencies and changes in patient condition.
• Maintain infection control, safety, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other nursing staff to ensure coordinated care.
• Support patient mobility, hygiene, and post-operative care when needed.

Qualifications

Required:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or acute care experience.
