Job Summary
Since 1952 we have been the leading supplier of specialized heavy remote equipment to support our customers manufacturing processes within the steel and non-ferrous markets. We are seeking an energetic, dedicated, and experienced Shop Manager to oversee asset management, equipment maintenance, and vehicle compliance to enhance our operational processes within our 24/7/365 service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a strategic mindset, with a proven track record in managing teams and driving process improvements in a quick paced environment.

A candidate for the role should have a minimum of 7 years’ experience working in an industrial environment and five years’ experience in a management or leadership capacity position. The ideal candidate will have past experience with scheduling union labor and logistical operations.

Responsibilities

  • All maintenance activities, work orders, equipment reliability, vehicle compliance, and manages shop mechanics
  • Requests and supports the parts/inventory purchasing and inter-company transfer processes as necessary
  • Logs equipment hours into ERP Syteline system
  • Support purchasing for equipment parts to support mechanics
  • Controls all equipment shipping in and out of the facility
  • Involved in checking inventory levels before ordering or transferring parts
  • On-site truck maintenance scheduling, registrations, and oversize permits as necessary
  • Approves and assists with ordering all tools for trucks and mechanics
  • Reports facility/employee issues to the Area Manager

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in an industrial management role or similar position.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
  • Demonstrated expertise in process improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strategic planning experience, with a focus on achieving business objectives.
  • Strong background in customer service and the ability to multi-task.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
