We are seeking a skilled and energetic Commercial Painter to join our dynamic construction team. Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Use hand tools and power tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and caulking guns to apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other coatings
- Read blueprints and schematics to accurately determine surface areas, color schemes (including color theory), and project specifications
- Perform construction estimating tasks related to material needs and project timelines for painting jobs
- Execute specialized painting techniques including industrial painting, stucco application, masonry finishing, plastering, and restoration projects
- Install fixtures, trim carpentry elements, and perform minor carpentry repairs as needed during renovation or remodeling projects
- Apply caulking and sealants around windows, doors, and joints to ensure weatherproofing and aesthetic appeal
- Conduct surface preparation for masonry or concrete finishing tasks; assist with framing or drywall when necessary
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols on construction sites and operating equipment properly
- Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving schematics or detailed blueprints for commercial or industrial spaces
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial painting with a strong background in construction site environments. At least five years experience with high-end residential or commercial.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and blueprint reading skills
- Proficiency in handling hand tools, power tools (including airless sprayers), and scaffolding equipment
- Knowledge of various painting techniques such as industrial painting, restoration work, stucco application, and masonry finishing
- Experience with renovation projects involving drywall installation, fixture installation, carpentry (including trim carpentry), framing or plastering is highly desirable
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimates accurately
- Strong understanding of color theory for effective color matching and aesthetic consistency in residential or commercial settings
- Additional skills such as welding, concrete finishing, masonry work or handyman experience are considered a plus but not required
