Duties
- Safely operate a box truck to deliver goods to various locations, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while following safe lifting practices
- Verify delivery orders, check shipment contents, and ensure accurate documentation for each delivery
- Assist with warehouse operations including material handling, inventory checks, and maintaining organized storage areas
- Communicate effectively using mobile devices to confirm routes, delivery times, and customer instructions
- Provide excellent customer service by representing the company professionally during deliveries and addressing customer inquiries courteously
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy lifting, weight handling in the workplace, and safe driving practices
- Drivers might be required to stay on the road a day or two.
Experience
- Previous warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is preferred
- Delivery driver experience involving box trucks or personal vehicle delivery is highly valued
- Knowledge of manual transmission vehicles and experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or moving carts
- Demonstrated ability to load & unload cargo efficiently while adhering to safety standards
- Experience in route driving with a focus on punctuality and adherence to traffic laws
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations related to commercial vehicle operation and weight handling in the workplace
- Excellent manual handling skills combined with a commitment to safe lifting practices
