The Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for customers within a wire harness and cable assembly manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for managing customer relationships, driving revenue growth, and ensuring the successful execution of customer programs from quotation through production and delivery. The Account Manager collaborates cross-functionally to align customer requirements with manufacturing capabilities, ensuring high levels of quality, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
- Inspect and test incoming materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, work instructions, and company quality standards.
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections using visual inspection techniques and precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, rulers, and other inspection tools.
- Approve incoming materials by verifying specifications, reviewing certifications and documentation, conducting visual and dimensional inspections, and identifying, rejecting, and documenting nonconforming materials.
- Monitor production activities and conduct in-process inspections to ensure quality requirements are met at every stage of manufacturing.
- Approve finished products by confirming compliance with specifications, conducting visual and measurement inspections, identifying defects, and verifying corrective actions and rework activities.
- Document inspection results by completing inspection reports, nonconformance reports, first article inspections, and quality records, and by accurately entering data into quality management systems and databases.
- Identify quality issues, assist with root cause investigations, and support the implementation and verification of corrective and preventive actions.
- Communicate quality concerns, inspection findings, and required process adjustments to production supervisors, manufacturing personnel, engineering, and quality management.
- Assist in developing and maintaining inspection procedures, process checklists, quality documentation, and work instructions to ensure consistent quality standards.
- Support supplier quality activities by documenting incoming material discrepancies and coordinating the disposition of nonconforming materials with internal teams and suppliers.
- Ensure that all quality control procedures, inspection plans, and company policies are followed during receiving, production, and final inspection.
- Maintain calibration awareness and proper operation of measuring and test equipment by following established procedures and reporting equipment issues as needed.
- Assist in training and educating production personnel on quality requirements, workmanship standards, defect identification, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a safe and compliant work environment by adhering to company safety policies, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, improve product quality, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Associate or Technical School degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 1 years of sales experience at a manufacturing company or similar applicable experience.
- Direct experience managing key accounts and maintaining lasting customer relations.
- Requires knowledge of manufacturing, including electronics manufacturing and distribution concepts and processes
- Experience working with sales software/customer management system (CRM, ERP)
- Understanding and experience in developing a service engagement.
- Business acumen and experience working within and accelerating a selling cycle.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to troubleshoot and solve advanced technical and logistical problems.
- Business development skills and an aptitude to articulate KSM’s value proposition and services approach to instill confidence in our clients and be viewed by the client as the preferred solution provider
