KSHR Advisory is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a growing organization for a Senior Finance & Accounting Manager. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced finance and accounting professional who is equally comfortable performing day-to-day accounting work and providing financial insight to senior leadership. This individual will be an active participant in the accounting function, personally contributing to core accounting activities while also strengthening financial processes, reporting, controls, planning, and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Serve as a hands-on and engaged member of the accounting function, actively participating in day-to-day accounting activities in addition to providing leadership and oversight.
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries and maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
- Perform and review account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
- Actively participate in month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of supporting schedules, accruals, adjustments, and financial reports.
- Support daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, invoicing, cash activity, and other general accounting responsibilities as needed.
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
- Maintain supporting documentation and accounting records in accordance with established policies and internal controls.
- Coordinate and oversee internal team members and external accounting resources while remaining directly involved in the work of the function.
- Manage the annual financial audit process, including preparation of schedules, documentation, and responses to auditor requests.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and ensure consistency and accuracy across accounting processes.
- Provide coaching and development to finance and accounting team members.
- Develop and enhance accounting policies, procedures, workflows, and reporting practices.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial operations.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and profitability information for senior leadership.
- Conduct P&L reviews, cash flow analysis, financial projections, and performance monitoring.
- Analyze business and project performance and provide recommendations to support effective resource allocation.
- Partner with business leaders to review financial performance, identify trends, and assess risks and opportunities.
- Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights that support business decisions.
Strategic Finance & Business Support
- Serve as a trusted financial partner to senior leadership on business performance, planning, and growth initiatives.
- Support banking relationships, credit facilities, cash management, and other financing needs.
- Provide financial analysis and planning related to organizational growth, new initiatives, and potential business transactions.
- Contribute to the development of longer-term financial plans and organizational priorities.
- Recommend improvements to financial processes, reporting, systems, and controls.
- Prepare financial information and presentations for executive leadership and other key stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- CPA certification required.
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting operations, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and audits.
- Prior experience in a federal contracting environment, with working knowledge of applicable accounting, audit, and compliance requirements.
- Experience developing, implementing, or improving accounting policies and financial processes.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial performance and translate findings into practical business recommendations.
- Experience working effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required; master's degree preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a growing or operationally complex organization.
- Experience overseeing or coordinating external accounting resources.
- Strong proficiency with Excel and experience with financial management, ERP, reporting, or business intelligence platforms.
- Experience supporting financial planning for organizational growth, financing, acquisitions, or new business initiatives.
- Prior experience managing or developing finance and accounting team members.
